«E. R.», acronimo di Emergency Repart, ha almeno due meriti: è il serial televisivo che ha rilanciato il cosiddetto genere «ospedaliero» della fiction (antichissimo a ben guardare: ricordate «General Hospital»?) e al tempo stesso ha aperto le porte del successo al talentuoso George Clooney. L'ideatore è il romanziere Michael Crichton, tra i registi che vi hanno collaborato anche firme prestigiose come Quentin Tarantino. La sigla ha un inconfondibile tocco ambient. D'altra parte nasce pur sempre negli anni Novanta.
